This type of kidney transplant has been done for the first time in this country at the Benjamin Mkapa Hospital, Tanzania becoming one of the 7 countries in Africa that provide this service.

Other countries that provide this service are Algeria, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia.
